 Rallying is a wonderfully powerful addiction. Our Club keeps growing as an example of this. Our Recent Phil Fiddymont Memorial Rallysprint is a definite favourite and drew a good, exciting field. This event is the Nelson Car Club’s way of remembering Phil Fiddymount and to those others from our club who have passed away.

 The weather forecast was for rain and both the last two hillclimbs at this venue have been run in the bad weather so we were expecting the worst and as we drove out a few drips appeared on the windscreen, threatening a rain that never came.

30th January 2005  Whangamoa Tarseal Hillclimb  by Nigel Curtis

 The event on the 30th of January was the dreaded “up and back” with a start at the bottom a flat-out up with a u-turn at the top and then back down again.

 A few tar seal players held a hillclimb up the old road at the other side of the Whangamoa hill.
