Nelson Car Club - Competitor Info

Welcome to the Mitre 10 MEGA Bowater Motor Group 2023 King of Kohatu

We are pleased to welcome you to the third year of this event, your entry has been accepted.

There are a few things we want to make sure you know:

1. Please ensure you have read and understood the regs for the event, including the bit about tyres as well as the placement/displacement of cones/ tyes - 5 second penalties will apply for cone/ tyre abuse.

2. Scrutineering/documentation is this Friday the 17th for all competitors, outside at The Classic Car Museum, Nelson from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
If you are travelling from out of Nelson and really can’t make it, let us know so you can get remote documentation and scrutineering sorted.

3. Drivers roll call is at 8:45am with practice starting at 9:00am on Saturday, so you are going to want to be at the venue to set up at around 8am at the latest – earlier if you have a truck – in fact, let us know if you have a large operation so we can sort a suitable area for you.

4. Maps of the track location, layout, pits and parking, follow the links below, the road from the main highway is gravel and reasonably narrow, allow plenty of time.

5. There is little to no cell phone coverage on site – 5 minutes back up the access road is the best spot for this if you are desperate to post your escapades on Facebook, or in a more important emergency.

6. Camping on site is available, no charge. Port-A-Loos will be on site too, but no showers. Let us know if you are planning on this if you can.

9. Prize giving, cheap-fake champagne spraying and trophy presentations will be at the venue, half an hour after the final run.
